Levels in Ballet
These ages are basic guidelines for each level. Each child is considered individually and if they need extra instruction or more of a challenge, they will be placed in the appropriate level.
Intro to Ballet
Ages : 3-4 years old
Introduce your child to the joy of classical ballet! Children listen to music from well-known ballets and learn to listen to instructions from the teacher through fun songs. Dancing with scarves, acting out stories, and freeze dance instill a love of ballet at a young age.

Pre-Ballet
Ages: 5 years old
The child has grown a little and starts to learn the first few ballet positions and steps. They start to stretch and strengthen their feet and legs which is vital to ballet technique.

Threshold
Ages: 6 years old
The children continue to learn the rest of the five positions and some basic steps at the barre and across the floor. This level prepares the child to start Level 1 the following year. At this point in their development, they are given the opportunity to perform with the rest of the school in story ballets.

Levels 1-6
Ages: 7 years old and up
The child progresses through the levels at a rate that is both healthy and challenging to their bodies and their emotional state. They will be promoted or placed in an appropriate level according to their level of technique and understanding of ballet. All children in levels 1 through 6 who attend the appropriate number of classes can perform in the school's productions.
